Hello Pittsboro!

In case anyone is wondering, I haven't always wanted to open a yoga studio. For that matter, I haven't always wanted to be a yoga teacher. In fact, when I first stepped onto my mat 27 years ago I wasn't even that into yoga and I viewed it as a compliment to a fairly vigorous fitness routine. Fast forward to today and here we are...

When Lexie told me that she was closing Yoga Garden, I had what I can only describe as an existential crisis. Where would I practice? Where would I teach? Because let's face it, I'm a little too "woo woo" for a lot of places (and that's okay). I spent a good deal of time tossing ideas around in my mind on how to continue my journey and where.

And it occurred to me...I should open a studio.

So, I talked to my partner who was incredibly supportive as always. Then I talked to Lexie who was also incredibly supportive and encouraged me to take the leap if that's what my heart (and head) told me was the right path. Thus Pittsboro Yoga was born!

The new studio will never be Yoga Garden, but it doesn't have to be and it shouldn't try to be. It my sincerest hope though that if we continue to teach and practice in an authentic way that we will carry some of the spirit with us that made that space so special. It is also my hope that you'll find a home with us and we can start the next leg of the journey together.

I will publish more updates as things continue to progress, but right now we're on track to be up and running by the beginning of May with classes starting around the middle of May. So please be sure to follow us, sign up for our newsletter, and help us spread the word.
